Thoughts

The original title of this piece was 'Kind Stranger'. I met Cole online and we chatted a lot, it was COVID we were both teachers with free time on our hands. We had a few things in common, he was living in Asia as an expat and so was I, we both had similar senses of humour, and could talk about deeper topics. I was able to explain what had been going on with my mental health a little and he helped encourage me to go to therapy and realise that I had some trauma to deconstruct. He loved photographs and art and took an interest in my work. Then he just ghosted. He still pops up as online, but he hasn't replied despite messaging a few times. It hurts given how honest I was with him. I also misjudged him, I didn't expect to be ghosted - we had always been really clear with each other so I thought he might tell me he needed time away or something. Oh well, the portrait is great! He has an awesome beard, it was my first time drawing facial hair and I learnt a lot from this drawing.
