Thoughts
I'm still not sure what this piece means exactly. I started sketching a self-portrait and thought I might experiment with different colours, I had the red eye in my thoughts. I felt fractured. I cut up the drawing with these lines to show that.

Process
You can see the reference photo in the gif here. I sketched out my portrait and began adding details starting with the eye on the left. I decided to cut the piece up and added the lines, followed by some experimentation with red alcohol markers. I decided to continue adding some colour and some pencil to complete the self-portrait. I used an ink fineliner to add the scratches around the outside and finished the piece with charcoal for the neck and hair.
